Welcome to today's Guest Designer, Karen!

Today we welcome Karen of Kaleidoscopic Sparkles as our Guest Designer. Karen was chosen by the DT as the winner of the 'Stamps Be Gone!' challenge. So, without further ado let's move on to hear from Karen.

Hello, crafty friends! What a joy to be guest designing at Frilly and Funkie today. There has been serious happy dancing. :) My heart speaks clearest through artistic endeavors, so creativity has always been a part of my life. I have an affinity for all things ruffly, pearly, and sparkly. Most of my projects are for charitable purposes, where I use my passion for paper crafting to deliver love and hope to those in need. The card I'm sharing today serves such a purpose and will soon be on its merry way.

Sue's theme of "Let there be light!" inspired wintry Christmas magic. It began with the rays of sunshine, which were made with my first dabble into mixed media texture paste! (Baby steps...) To retain the coolness of winter, they are crystalline sunbeams with abundant iridescent sparkle that my photos do not capture.

My love for trims encouraged a snowy horizon of lace that opens to the heavens and pom trim that releases dainty snowflakes below. The sunset is lavender in honor of our Sugar Plum Fairy ballerina, who is dancing upon a pearly snowdrift into sweet Christmas dreams. Pearls accent her costume for a touch of elegance, while the floral arrangement is dusted with Christmas sparkle. Christmas is all things beautiful and my card celebrates a few of my favorite aspects of the season. I hope the recipient enjoys it!

I'm sure you'll all agree that Karen's card is absolutely gorgeous and perfectly captures the theme of our current challenge! Thank you Karen for joining us as our Guest Designer for this challenge.

If you would like to be in with the chance to join us as Guest Designer all you need to do is join in with the current challenge 'Let there be light!'.
