Happy New Year! 2022 begins on a bittersweet note at The Funkie Junkie Boutique Blog as we say goodbye to two team members and welcome two new members. We are sad to say goodbye to our Design Team Leader, Jenny Marples, who has provided so much inspiration and support through her creative work and her many contributions behind the scenes through the years. We're also sad to say goodbye to Team Member Tera Callihan, whose creative voice has provided so much inspiration through her challenge samples and tutorials over the last six months. We wish both of these talented artists the very best in their future creative work.
The Funkie Junkie Boutique is also excited to welcome two new Design Team Members: Lisa Hoel and Lyla Larimore. We have enjoyed their work as challenge winners and Guest Designers, and we are thrilled that they have agreed to join Suzanne Czosek, Laura Gilhuly, Janna Ketchum and Teri Wilson as our new Design Team. We're looking forward to lots of amazing inspiration in the months to come!
The first Challenge of the New Year is "Out with the Old, In with the New!" Create a vintage or shabby chic project using something old and something new. Perhaps you found an exciting new stamp, die, or embossing folder that you're excited to experiment with, and it will be the ideal way to show off some of those special papers or embellishments that have been waiting for just the right opportunity to shine. Maybe one of the sample projects from our Design Team will provide exactly the inspiration you need to create something marvelous:
Teri Wilson - TerisMailbox
Janna Ketchum - dunhamtreasuresofthesea_jannak
Lisa Hoel - Creative Juice
Suzanne Czosek - Suzz's Stamping Spot
Lyla Larimore - A Chief's Wife's Heart's 'aFire
Laura Gilhuly - AngelScraps
The guidelines for entering are simple; create a new vintage or shabby chic project following the challenge theme, link it to your post (not just your blog) and also include a link to this challenge in your post. You can combine our challenge with up to 10 challenges (including this one) to be in with a chance for winning. If you are entering through a public forum (such as Instagram) you'll need to include the words 'Funkie Junkie Boutique Challenge'. Also, please turn off your Word Verification so our Design Team can leave comments on your blogs. Make sure you follow these rules as unfortunately, we have had to eliminate entrants from the prize drawing in the past.
The overall winner will be offered the chance to be a Guest Designer at a future date here at The Funkie Junkie Boutique Blog, and everyone who enters and follows the rules will go into the drawing for the chance to win a $25.00 spending spree at The Funkie Junkie Boutique. There are also Top 3 Badges for three additional outstanding entries, chosen by the Design Team.
Whatever you create, enjoy the making! We look forward to seeing your projects!
Many thanks go out to Jenny Marples for her 10+ years of leadership and amazing artwork that she has contributed to the team and the blog. She will be sorely missed. Thank you too to Tera Callihan for all the beautiful samples she has shared over the past six months.
