Hello friends! It's Teri with TerisMailbox posting for TFJB Inspiration Ave sponsored by The Funkie Junkie Boutique. Our theme is Deck the Halls and I'll show you how to change simple Dollar Tree Ornaments into Holiday Scenes - Santa included!
Gather a few blank ornaments that are large enough to add items inside. These ornaments came from The Dollar Tree.
Paint a few different Small Salvaged Figures using Distressed Paints. Once dry add Collage Medium and Rock Candy Glitter if desired. Do the same with the candy canes from Ideology Confections.
Add a small circular piece of packing material in the bottom of the ornament. Cut a piece of polyester quilt batting for the snow base. Use hot glue to attach the packing, snow and the figures to the snow base. Add a candy jar to the ornament with the soldier as well as a candy cane from Ideology Confections.
Die cut a set of trees using dark forest green cardstock and the Tall Pines die cut from Sizzix. Trim the height and length for a good fit within the ornament. No need to glue the trees, they just float in the ornament.
Pour Mica Flakes and Rock Candy Glitter into the ornament and attach the bottom lid.
Here are the other two ornaments I made. The girl and the deer are older Idea-ology pieces from my very large stash. I have bought Tim Holtz's products for years. How about you?
Check out the top of the ornaments. The seam binding is dyed using Candy Apple Distress Ink. The berry branch is made using the new Sizzix Festive Gatherings Die set. A perfect fit! Glossy Accents add the sine to the berries!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I'd love to have you follow/subscribe on my social media sites Instagram, Facebook, Blogger and YouTube all named TerisMailbox. Be well. Be creative!
