Welcome to today's Guest Designer, Elizabeth!

Today we are welcoming Elizabeth of Shrinking Mimsy as our Guest Designer. Elizabeth was chosen by the DT as the winner of the 'Snap, Crackle, Crackle' challenge and was therefore invited to join us for the day. Let's move on to find out what Elizabeth has created for the the current challenge, 'Monochromatic'.

I am Elizabeth, aka ShrinkingMimsy, mother of two beautiful college aged daughters and wife of one fabulous man with whom I share a soon to be empty nest in the woods of New Hampshire. It is a huge honor to have been chosen as a guest designer for Frilly and Funkie! My life long love of crafting is a gift from a very talented and patient grandmother. I sew, spin, dye, and knit, but for the past few years, paper crafts have been my main creative outlet and obsession. I love spending time in my craft room, making everything from cards to dimensional items to altered objects.

Starting with a thrift store glass bottle, I added layers of Wendy Vecchi and Rock Candy Distress Crackle mediums, micro beads, and layers of Green Distress Inks and paints for a nice muted green base.  Then I altered and created lots of brighter green embellishments, including metal filigree, an Idea-ology fragment charm, cardstock leaves, beads and Remnant Rubs.

Everything, including a dyed seam tape bow, was attached with hot glue.  As a finishing touch, I topped my bottle with a Distress Painted metal bead "stopper".

I'm sure you'll agree that Elizabeth's project is beautiful and has provided even more inspiration for the current challenge which is 'Monochromatic'.

If you would like to join us as Guest Designer all you need to do is join in!
