Friday Focus - A Sew Sew Sale

Hello, it's Linda up this week for our Friday Focus column.  This week's Friday Focus is on sewing themed products which are all on sale for 15% off at The Funkie Junkie Boutique.  So I whipped up a fun tag using many of the products that we are focusing on this week.  I started with a jumbo manila tag that I stained and sponged with Antique Linen, Old Paper, Vintage Photo and Black Soot distress stains and distress inks.  Then it was stamped with images from the TH Haberdashery set in Jet Black Archival ink.  After that step, I clear embossed it with Fabulous Flourishes and sponged it with Vintage Photo.
I stamped the spool label stamps, some using Jet Black Archival and some gold embossed, trimmed them out and sponged them with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.  I strung Venise Lace back and forth in sort of a clothesline effect and clipped the spool labels and a sewing charm on with stained micro clothes pins.

Using a tiny wooden spool, I wrapped it with black burlap thread, included a vintage style scissor charm and some sweet wooden floral buttons.  For the center of my flower, I used the smallest spool in the set.
And that's about it...just a fun piece playing around with the sewing embellishments - which are all 15%  off.  Check out the Friday Focus section of The Funkie Junkie Boutique to see what's on sale this week.
Have a great weekend!

  1. Superb tag Linda. Love the way you have strung your lace bunting down the tag to draw the eye through the various embellishments and the spool labels are gorgeous. Hugs, Jenny x
