Today we are joined by the very talented Kerstin of
Scrapbook Dreams. Kerstin was chosen by the DT as the winner of the Cool Water challenge. Let's move on to hear from Kerstin and see her fabulous project.
I'm Kerstin aka
Vintagelady and I live in Germany. I have been creating for many years now, always in search of new techniques and unexplored territory in craftland. My big passion is colour and I'm a big 'Shabby' style fan and love the things that are old and nobody wants anymore, because they have a history! It's very important for me to tell stories and create feelings! Recently I discovered the steampunk style. Inventive genius and adventurous romance are what makes Steampunk so very special and exciting to me.
Inspiration for me was the last topic by Frilly and Funkie
Vintage Travel and of course with a slight but unmistakable Steampunk touch! The cube (or Artist Trading Block) was great fun for me and is guaranteed not to be the last of it's kind :-)! Thanks for the invitation from such a very talented team with always great inspirations!
One of my favorites are embossing folders, here T. Holtz Alterations Travel signs set, difficult to see here are the tyre marks and lettering. The cube edges are created with black crackle paint and my beloved even drawn ;-) rusty pigments.
Always suitable to the altered art style of course are various colours of Distress, I use the reinker liquid ink primarily diluted with water in the mini mister as spray paint. The mini book arose from old book pages, grey cardboard and the cover is an old piece of texture wallpaper ;-) For more detailed photo's hop over to my blog
Scrapbook Dreams.
I'm sure you'll agree that Kerstin's Artist Trading Block is fantastic and has provided even more inspiration for the current challenge, '
Hip to be Square'.
