Welcome to today's Guest Designer, Julie!

Today we are welcoming Julie of Juliz Design Post as our Guest Designer. Julie was chosen by the DT as the winner of the 'Vintage Holiday' challenge and therefore was asked to join us as Guest Designer. So, let's move on to hear from Julie!

My name is Julie from Juliz Design Post. My earliest memories of starting to craft are on board Cargo ships. Growing up my Sister, Mum and I were lucky enough to go away to Sea a few times on trips as my Dad worked in the Merchant Navy. Taking with us school books and very little toys my Sister and I had to find things to amuse ourselves while away and I can remember my Mum handing us a large pile of A5 printed menu cards to play with. These fast became our favourite item, crafting houses with Snoopy on top, making cars, roads and shops. I guess this is probably why I have a love to create.

I was thrilled to win the recent Challenge - 'A Vintage Holiday', with my altered frame and delighted to be asked once again to Guest Design on such an Inspiring blog. With the current challenge – 'Winter Wishes'. I was asked to create something expressing what I love about winter. This was rather hard as I hate our cold wet winters in Scotland with the long dark days. But I do like on the rare times when we wake up to everything glistening white and I love to feed the birds in the winter time especially my beloved Robin – Ronald.

Now gathered with my inspiration I decided to make a wall hanging using a canvas board. Do check out my blog to see ongoing photographs of how I built my layers. Thanks so much to all at Frilly and Funkie for letting me guest design with you today.

And thank you Julie for joining us here! I'm sure you'll all agree that Julie's project is absolutely gorgeous and has provided even more inspiration for the current challenge 'Winter Wishes'.

If you would like to join us as Guest Designer, all you have to do is join in with the current challenge!

  4. Gorgeous wall hanging Julie. I love how you created the texture for your background and added colours that make us think spring. I also love how you focused on Ronald because it gives me hope that spring (and the return of robins) might be just around the corner - it has been way too cold here. Glad you could join us with this great project.
    Hugs!

  10. Your wall hanging is stunning, Julia!! A true winter wonder! I also feed the birds, and love observing their gentle habits from my craft room window. When I saw your sweet Robin, Ronald, I couldn't take my eyes away from him. I'll be glad when spring rolls around and we can enjoy watching our birds during the nesting season! Thank you so much for joining us as a guest designer!!
