Saturday Showcase - Stampers Anonymous Dearly Departed

Happy Saturday! Suzz here for a Saturday Showcase featuring the Dearly Departed Stamp Set! I am enamored with the flowers in this set. I decided to showcase the flowers and script from this set in a few different ways.

There is nothing I love more than inking up new stamps and stamping out the images. Add some coloring and fussy cutting and I am happy lady.

I started my projects by stamping the flowers using a variety of inks on separate sheets of white cardstock.

There are stamps that speak to me and inspire me to use them in a variety of projects. These flowers were a must have for me as soon as I saw them.

Then I colored these flowers using distress oxide inks and a waterbrush.

You need to let this dry before cutting them out. (I have ruined many a fussy cut by cutting too quickly while the paper was still wet).

I cut out both images or just some of the flowers and overlay them to create a longer strand of flowers.

For the background of my tag I used embossing paste and a stencil to emboss the image.  While it was still wet I sprayed a mix of pink and ivory sprays.  I also added spritzes of water to the inks to help them blend and soften the colors.

I added a lovely sentiment with a few mini clips. I also accented with some gold beads that I just glued on the flower center and randomly over the background. These flowers were colored with watercolor pencils and waterbrush and were inked with Potting Soil.

For my next card I stamped the image on the card base with a dark green ink.  I stamped a second set of flowers onto another sheet of cardstock.

I colored the flowers and image using watercolor pencils. I cut out the flowers to layer over the stamped image.

I added a hint of the script stamp and a sweet sentiment.

For my next card I wanted a no-line effect and stamped my original image using Antique Linen.

For this I colored over the linen with watercolor pencils and blended softly with water brush. I came back with a sharper edge by shading with the watercolor pencil.

Finally I just wanted to share a project from back in October which uses the flowers in a Halloween card.

We still have plenty of time for you to share some of your favorite repeatable techniques, tools, inks in our current challenge "Groundhog Day".

  1. I hear you completely on that stamp set, I brought it purely for that magnificent flower image. As you say so many possibilities and you have showcased it in so many ways, something for all seasons. Vintage & grungy and the tag is one of the prettiest I have seen this year, how lovely does the gold look against that dainty pink and luscious lace. Beautiful and inspiring, Thank YOU.
Wishing you a safe & creative weekend Tracey x
