Today we are welcoming Jennie of Live the Dream as our Guest Designer. Jennie was the DT winner of The Warmth of Winter challenge. So let's move on and hear from Jennie!

I am absolutely thrilled to be here Guest Designing for this challenge.  I live on the remote UK island of Shetland (in the middle of the North Sea half way between the Scottish Mainland and Norway). My husband and I have lived here for 35 years and love the fabulous way of life and the wonderful natural environment around us. We have two sons who both lead exciting lives and two wonderful grandchildren. I have always crafted and always loved papercrafts but after discovering Tim Holtz and Ranger products a few years ago life has never been the same!

As you can imagine living in such a remote place I am very reliant on online tutorials for learning new techniques and Frilly and Funkie has been one of my favourite places to visit. It is nice to have the opportunity to thank you all – I am very appreciative of all the ‘how to’ posts and of course the inspirational projects made by you all.

This challenge is just so wonderful for me as I am a little obsessed with making flowers! Buying flowers online has always been disappointing (wrong colour or shape, or much larger than expected), so I started making my own.

My favourites are these shabby roses made with the Tattered Florals die (there is a tutorial on my blog, along with a few others). I decided to showcase them on a layered tag made from some of my favourite Maja Design papers.

The middle flower with the stamens is also made with the Tattered Florals die and the smaller ones from a spiral circular die. I am also loving the new Spring Greenery Die - it's just perfect for handmade flowers!  I have mounted the completed tag on a piece of mount board covered with Picket Fence Crackle Paint to make a small hanging.

I'm sure you'll agree that Jennie's project is absolutely stunning! If you would like the chance of being a Guest Designer all you have to do is join in with the current challenge.

  6. Such lovely flowers, I read your tutorial after Linda mentioned it. The hanging is so pretty, I love the color and the soft look. Is that a hat pin? It is a great addition through the ribbon.
