Today's Guest Designer

We would like to give a warm welcome to today's Guest Designer, Sara Emily of Sarascloset.

Sara Emily graciously agreed to step in at the last minute when our winner of the Autumn Splendor challenge was unable to join us.

Here is what she has to say and the wonderful project she has created for this challenge - An Altered State.

Hello, Friends! It is an honor and a joy to be asked to join the talented Frilly and Funkie team as Guest Designer today! Some of you may know I love up-cyclying yard sale finds, but I enjoy just about anything crafty! I find it difficult to focus on just one style; I will try anything once—twice, if I like it!

Cec’s theme “An Altered State” is right up my alley, and it took me no time to dig out a Styrofoam cone I picked up at a yard sale years ago. I’ve envisioned this as many things, but Cec gave me the nudge to actually do something about it!

I saw trees similar to these on Pinterest a LONG time ago, and wanted to give them a try with my own personal spin. I picked up a few smaller cones at my local craft store to complete this set of three. These trees will be a table centerpiece at my daughter’s voice and piano instructor’s Christmas recital, so I wanted to give them lots of sparkle and a nod to music.

I also transformed old sheet music, silver and gold jingle bells, and half pearls to give these a festive, melodious look. Lot’s of texture paste, Distress glitter and sprays, and DecoArt Glamour dust make these shimmer and shine! I’m afraid the camera cannot pick up just how sparkly these trees are in real life!

Thank you, ladies, for allowing me to join you as Guest Designer!

If you too would like an opportunity to join us as a Guest Designer, then all you need to do is participate in our current challenge - An Altered State.  The winner of the challenge as chosen by the Design Team will be invited to be a Guest Designer.
