Guest Designer - Astrid Maclean

It is time to introduce our Guest Designer for the "B" Happy challenge. Please say hello and welcome back to Astrid Maclean of Astrid's Artistic Efforts. Astrid was the Design Team's top pick from the Layers of Lace challenge.

I have been stamping and paper crafting probably for about 10 years or so, but did not get seriously into it until about 2007.

My paper crafting hobby has developed from those early stamping and card making days into using many different media and I would like to call myself a mixed media artist. I love journaling, altering all sorts of objects and playing about with gesso, acrylic paints, collage and many layers. Often I use my stamps more for creating backgrounds rather than as a main vocal point. My style is Vintage/Shabby Chic and I love playing around with ribbons, flowers and lace.

After swapping ATCs for many years I recently got involved with doing swaps of different things. For my project I created a folder that will hold tags and little packages of tea for a swap I did recently. I used Eileen Hulls newly released Wrapped Journal.

I created a deep pocket to attach to the inside of the journal (or rather folder in this case) to hold my little swap gifts.

And attached to the central panel, measuring carefully so it would fit.

I had fun creating several packages and tags to fit inside.
If you want more detail of how I put it all together, just visit my blog.

What a fun way to use the wrapped journal and something useful for the person on the receiving end of this gorgeous creation. Once you have checked out all of Astrid's details, come on back and share your "B" Happy creations with us.

You have lots of time as the challenge runs through 11:55 pm on Tuesday, July 17th.

If you need more inspiration, be sure to check out the upcoming Saturday Showcase and then next Wednesday, the gals on the Funkie side of the team will be sharing their "B" Happy creations.
