Put on Your Inking Cap

Hello, Friends! It's Kathy here, and I'm delighted to be hosting the latest challenge here at Frilly & Funkie. Our theme this go round is "Put on Your Inking Cap." If you know anything about me at all, you know that I adore designer paper. It's my "go to" product for nearly everything I make. But not this time around! For this challenge we are asking you to create a vintage or shabby chic project without using any designer paper. You can use inks, mists, paints, texture paste, fabric, felt, embossing powders, pencils, markers, pastels, chalks...the sky is the limit! As long as you are not using designer paper on the front of your project, you are golden.

The lovely and creative Eileen Hull generously donated a set of her HeARTfelt Journal cover sets to each member of the team, so each of us has created a lovely Traveler's Notebook style journal to share with you for this challenge. However, you do NOT have to create a journal to play along!

If you are looking for Eileen's Journal Bigz XL Die, you can pre-order it from The Funkie Junkie Boutique.

The team will choose their top four picks with the winner being invited to join us in a Guest DT spot here at Frilly and Funkie and the next three will receive badges to display on their blogs. Everyone who enters and follows the rules will be entered into the draw to have the chance to win a $25 spending spree at The Funkie Junkie Boutique.

The guidelines for entering are simple; create a new vintage or shabby chic project following the challenge theme, link it below to your post (not just your blog) and also include a link back to this challenge in your post. You can combine our challenge with up to 10 challenges (including this one) to be in with a chance of winning. If you are entering through a public forum (such as Instagram) you'll need to include the words Frilly and Funkie Challenge. Also, please be sure to turn off your Word Verification so our Design Team can leave comments on your blogs. Make sure you follow these rules as unfortunately we have had to eliminate entrants from the prize draws in the past.

The Funkie side of the Design Team is back with more gorgeous inspiration and we are thrilled to have a special Guest Designer, Julia Aston, joining us this week;

Special Design Team Guest

WEEK ONE

The Frilly side of the Design Team has kicked us off with some gorgeous inspiration:

Kathy Clement - Kathy by Design

Cec Wintonyk - CW Card Creations

Nancy Dynes - Tattered Treasures

So get out your inks, chalks, markers, embossing powders, stamps, stencils, mists and paints, etc. and share your non-designer paper project with us before end of day on Tuesday, May 9th. Don't forget to come back tomorrow when our latest Guest Designer will be sharing a new project with us. And remember to visit again on Wednesday, May 3rd when there will be more inspiration from the Funkie side of the Design Team.

Go put on your inking cap, and get your craft on!

Cheerio,
kathy
