When I saw the new Kraft Albums from Graphic 45 my eyes lit up and I knew that I had to have one. This album is fun because it comes with multiple pockets and three notebooks with more pockets. Each notebook has different types of pages including: lined paper, blank pages and grid paper. I immediately thought of creating a book to use for my house decor ideas and tracking.
I decided to use the lovely Stamperia Lilac Papers to cover the books inside and out. I placed the outside cover onto the paper and traced the outline to cut out and attach to the cover. I painted the surfaces with white gesso to frame the paper and blend the edges. I used the distressing tool and a bit more gesso to soften the edges.
On the inside I painted the cover first with Gesso. After that dried I used vellum paper to trace the shapes of the pockets and measured the insert. I cut the papers to fit and attached with tape. I distressed the edges with paint and distressing tool.
I followed the same process for the three little booklets inside the album. They all received their own papers and embellishments.
The first booklet used one of the postcard images from the paper with the butterfly wings cut out to lift up from the page and accented with a hint of glitter. The centers were accented with a pearl.
The next book received a hint of vintage photo around the edges and a tag cut out of the coordinating papers. I found the beautiful flower in my flower drawer that coordinated with the prints.
The final book emulates the cover with the same soft butterflies and the Timekeeper again die cut from cardboard and painted white to keep a soft effect. I had to stamp one thing on the project so I slipped in the numbers stamped in a soft gray to blend in.

Suzz, I've only looked at the pretty pictures so far, but I have to say I am smitten! I love how you've used these beautiful Stamperia papers! I'll be back to check out all the details of your post. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteLove it - so pretty and very feminine.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful journal. Love all the little details.
ReplyDeleteI love the little journal and the soft colors! And the little added booklets, just perfect.
ReplyDeleteLovely project. I can't get enough of these little TN's. When I made my first one I cut templates out so I wouldn't have to measure the pockets, covers, etc. each time. I've made about a dozen of these and still want to make more.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea and me too! I traced them on the vellum and then set them aside.
DeleteThis is such a gorgeous journal, Suzz! I love the fact that you covered the kraft elements with Gesso, lending it such a light and delicate feel. So clever, and so beautifully done! xo
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Notebook cover for the 3 beautiful notebooks!
